Increasing the number of stages beyond three gives no benefit (boy was I
disappoined
when I tired it and it didn't make anything better ;^)
Three stages (all reading the peak voltage) is the minimum to assure that at
least
ONE of the stages still has the valid data, for more than the entire cycle.
