Well, then, you should definitely try using them as VCOs -- what do you have
to lose? Build one, see how you like it. If it's good, build another one and
see if they are relatively stable enough for you (i.e. do they stay in tune
with each other). If so, great! If not, use them as VC LFOs.

Again, you've got to get Thomas Henry's booklet
(http://www.midwest-analog.com/catbooks.html#bk566) for all the circuits in
