Yes, the K1 is all 8-bit, and yes, they do sound very cool.  I still think 
it's one of the best things Kawai ever made.  You can buy them for pennies these 
days, too.

Well, it's not as distorted as the K1!  Try running it through some sort of 
fuzz box or overdrive.
