Much better solution: an etchant tank actually made for doing PCB's, 
with heater and bubbler. Only $40 at Circuit Specialists.

Also, I use Ammonium Persulfate rather than ferric chloride - doesn't 
stain (although it does bleach!).
These guys have the best deals on presensitized PCB's I've seen 
anywhere, also.
