Hello All,
A short story about twisted humor. I hope you'll enjoy.
Many years ago a friend and I watched a 60 minutes special on the out sourcing of government contracts which showed an example of an electronics company that had won such a contract and where they were now.
"Fuzziez Electronics" ( true name), was one such company won a contract to assemble and test part of a guidance assembly for the xxx missile project. When the reporters for 60 minutes visited the head quarters of Fuzzies Electronics, they found a large garage that had been the head quarters for Fuzzies, but which was now being used by a rock band for a rehearsal area. The equipment and supplies for the governors project had been turned into effects boxes, etc for the band. Fuzzie had went under....if they had ever been at all.
 Hummm.........that's brilliant..........true genius.........Hummm.........
We also at the time had a rock band and were quite interested in building/acquiring trailer loads of equipment, but........ where does on begin.
 A name , a name , but by any other a name.
There was the birth of XXX Electronics. And with that name......we could get samples, data books, respect......!!!!!! No one was interested in a couple of guys interested in "art music", but, when we let it be known we made replacement parts for the Hubble telescope......we were important.
I don't know how many times I spoke with very high up people about our mission and the quantity of replacement parts we would be making. ; - )
The inside joke was that we had a technician standing by when the time came.
Again this was many years ago, and all that were involved in that venture have parted ways, though I can help but hear them laughing now, and wondering......
Maybe we were on the right track after all.

Onward.

Sure, investors and CEO's who are profiting from all of the
outsourcing that's put so many programmers, web site designers,
etc. out of work, perhaps forcing us out of the computer field for
good, love G. Weaselboy Shrub. Actually, I can't think of many
politicians, in either party---at any level of government, here in the
U.S. that I like. Most of them appear to be crooked puppets of the
eminence grise who love to raise taxes just to have money to waste on
things like their toupees, projects that give their cronies more
money, unnecessary wars, and the building of more highways that we
don't need so that they can destroy more rural areas to make more
money for large corporations and so-called "developers". I'd say that
it's about time we followed Thomas Jefferson's advice, but even saying
that would probably result in a knock at the door at 2AM, and being
hauled away to neverneverland by the CIA.
