First, thanks to Old Crow for continuing to host this video. I have been in
contact with many "utility geek" and some otherwise clueless people from
around the globe about this and it has been a lot of fun. I have updated
the page a couple of times when additional information became available.
However, a couple of days ago, I got an e-mail from THE guy who actually
shot the video. I have updated my page with a few more "facts" about the
incident. However, the cause is still not "fully" explained.

Larry Hendry
aka DOUG (dumb old utility guy)
P.S. I added DOUG, because in a utility publication, this is a term being
used to self-describe a large sector of the utility electric industry
employees like myself who are older than 45 years old and who will be
eligible for retirement in the next 10 years (I'm out at 55 in 7 years). It
seems that almost 1/2 of our employees fit into that category. So, you
young whipper-snappers take note - nationwide there will be a huge demand
for BSEEs and electrical tech school graduates interested in high voltage
engineering and operation. Maybe you might want to add a couple of "power"
classes in with all those computer classes. Students that co-op with
utilities during school do very well for those so inclined or involved in
such a program.
