I don't really know, but I suspect that the Matrix might very well shut
down any voice with a bad oscillator. I've seen other synths do this.

How often and when does the Matrix automatically "calibrate" or "test" the
oscillators? If it's only at startup, perhaps you could add some sort of
switch to manually disable the output of the oscillators AFTER the initial
calibrate procedure has completed. You might even want to link the
switching action to the jack/s you use to input your guitar signal?
