[sdiy] [seq] 615 Multi-Trak Memory Battery Probs.

There are a couple of possibilities...

one... there is a short, or some chip is drawing more current than it
should

be especially wary of any chips in the battery backed section that have
'unused'
gates. Sometimes one of the unused sections goes bad... and although
functions
still work the power draw goes way up.

A good multimeter could tell you the current draw if it is bad. Good
behaviour might
be sub-uA range (unreadable) but BAD behavior could be sub-mA range
(probably
readable)

Another option... fit a two cell holder and use two regular alkaline
batteries. A couple
of C cells would probably last a year or two, even WITH the shitty current
draw.
