my source for this sort of thing is 'tap plastics', which happens to be a
block away. they do almost everything related to plastics, including
tools/materials, pre-made objects, custom fabrication.

i have seen clear boxes in a couple different types of plastic in their
retail store. you can make them with cast resin, but i am not sure what the
best way is to make something like this. what i have done is encapsulate
simple circuits with the stuff - - very attractive, if forever unfixable.

when they say the casting resins smell bad, they mean REALLY REALLY bad.
total evil smell. this and the mess are enough to consider pre-fab.

on the other hand, they have marine-grade epoxy resins which have no
odor...! but they are significantly more expensive, and the polyester
resins are not exactly cheap to begin with.
