The initial download for the 8051F120 is JTAG and you can prorgram the 
Flash in 1k blocks from within the application it appears.

I've looked at these some time ago and while appealing didn't do what I 
wanted. I just see that there are preliminary datasheets for ARM7 based 
ADuCs that would be a much better fit when/if they are available. The 
development board looks OK, only the description seems to be missing? 
More research to do...

The 8051F120 runs up to 100MHz, with most opcodes at two cycles 
(including MAC).
