One difference is the rotational life. Some cheap-o
switches only last for 100s to low 1000s of
revolutions.
Another difference is make/break current and/or
carry current. Are you going to switch power, or
"dry contact" (audio) levels ?
Mechanical feel might be different. Mounting and
construction differ.
Of course the right switch is the one that fits YOUR
needs. If you use a device once a week, you might
find that a life of 10,000 operations might last you
twenty years...
I also consider "can you get replacements" ??? A long
standing design might be a good idea, but in this day
of the b at st@rd MBA from HELL (if thats not
redundant...) there is no guarantee that even a
classic design will be produced tomorrow !!!
btw R3 (2.2M) is redundant... C4 and R4 set the input
frequency response. <teehee>
