DREAM is a French company that licensed the "sound set" and the 'engine' core to
Atmel. Crystal Semi used to have a DREAM (yes, all caps) chip set in the
mid-90s. They sounded really good, haven't heard one in 8 years or so. Back
then, the emphasis was compression of the GM sounds into a single 1MB ROM.
I think that you have to sign a load of NDAs to get them, though.
