[sdiy] semi ot: power amp PSU idea correct?

At first a multi channel active speaker seems expensive,
because you need N amplifiers.

But I think there is some saving:

-no passive crossover needed (good RLC components are not cheap)
-one PSU can feed all four, with the wattage of the largest amp
 Reason: only one amp at the time can be to 100%, there is no
 more headroom in the single input signal. Or in other terms:
 input signal will distribute somehow in the N frequency
 channels.

Is this correct?
