[sdiy] Glide circuit, how possible?

In the circuit shown, the 4051 selects from 8 wah frequency pots. Glide would be simple to add if the 8 wah frequency pots were replaced with 8 wah frequency control voltage pots, and the resulting CV was sent to a voltage controlled resistor (VCR). Then, the CV could be run through a standard lag circuit for "glide." The VCR would replace the original wah frequency pot. Perfect, right? Nope.

Minor problem #1: voltage controlled resistors don't really exist. This is the type of situation where a CA3080 OTA or a Vactrol is usually employed.

Minor problem #2: That's the limit of my technical knowledge! I really don't know if an OTA or Vactrol would work well in this application. Hopefully, someone else will the baton* and run with it. (Please?)

Subject: [sdiy] Glide circuit, how possible?

Hello list! My name is Jason Stout and I need a reality check, and some advice.

How possible, or practical, is the addition of a glide circuit to this sequencer:

  How would it be done?
I can't see it happening, but if it is practical, I think you guys would know.

  Thanks!
  J
