[sdiy] Varying gate lengths (using a 4017 counter) for a simple sequencer?

Thanks to everyone whose replied on this thread.

Due to my lack of skill, and the destination for this device (a modular) i
think i am just going to take it one step at a time, and build the trigger
sequencer module first, real basic, and then add to this accompanying
modules.

Ill probably use all ten outputs from the 4017, and allow external patching
to cut it down to whatever's desired, using the reset.

Ill add a CV accompanying module (or two, or th... ), and then, once that's
all working, housed, etc. work out an 'add on' module to mess with the
trigger outputs.

By that point i will have read more on the subject.  Besides, to be honest,
I'm quite eager to start building, and then using, what i know how to do at
the moment : )

I will have some more thought about what would be most useful, and, no doubt
start asking questions again in a little while.

Thanks again, much appreciated - i now have some pointers as to what to read
up on.
