   Nope, a very good question indeed.  The power consumption isn't a 
problem for me (I'm running a 3A linear for a whopping 8 modules, so I 
got a bit of overhead.  :)
   I guess I really can't offer any good good reason for NOT using the 
HC(T) series other than I was mainly interested in TTL and got stuck on 
that.  I'll definately have to look into this a bit more closely since 
I'm building 2 more of these.
