I have always used and am VERY pleased with the Bausch & Lomb Eye Loupes. I
have both the 5X and 10X at my bench at all times. I usually use the 5X
(it's a must have) but sometimes... the 10X comes in very handy for
inspection of solder joints, etc. I've been known to solder SMT parts with
the 5X in my eye and the Metcal about 1" from my cheek. That's always fun!

Or... if you're looking for more of a triplet... they go from cheap on eBay
(you get what you pay for) to quite expensive. I find the eye loupes easier
to use as you just stick them on your eye and don't have to hold them. The
primary difference is... like with the 5X... it has a focal length of 2" so
you have to get close to your work unlike a hand-held magnifier.
