interesting article. i still run a pc with an asus a7v and an athlon 900.
funny enough i can still do all my audio applications with it, so i don't
really see a need to upgrade.

on the 'quiet pc' front, doing a bit of searching on some of the hardware
pages mentioned on this site, i came across a Nexus nx3000 power supply..
300w, made here in holland and for sale for around 65 euro. less than 20 dB
with average pc power consumption...
there are also passive cooled psu's with a big heatsink on the outside..but
they are close to 200 euro.

(who somehow never trusted the combination of water in plastic hoses and
very hot electrical parts..;-)
