Yo,
I received a similar message claiming to be Citibank.
I sent the message to the FBI who told me there was an
ongoing investigation into these kinds of scams.
In general, legitimate businesses will not ask for
passwords or PIN numbers to be sent 'in the clear'
i.e. without encryption. Any email that does ask for
these things is automatically suspect.
The Internet is like a bazarre in an exotic foreign
country. One has to be very careful walking into a
place like that. Most of the shopkeepers are on the
level, but there is a wiley character around every
corner waiting to scam a sucker.
