Yeah seen these... my general rule is that the real eBay does not ever ask
for anything.

Also I've developed a sense of callous spoof awareness. For example, got
this yesterday:

At 10.19.2003 our company has lost all
accounts in the system during the database
crash. You must update your account's details
immediately otherwise your account
will be lost in two days! Please click on the link
below to get to the eBay security update page and re-enter
your account's and Credit Card's details. If you have any
problems, please mail us.
Thank you.

First of all, "At 10.19.2003" is bad English. So is "during the database
crash". What database crash? Like we've all heard of it (and certainly eBay
has a better IT department than that). Another giveaway is the exclamation
point in "otherwise your account will be lost in two days!". Oooh, scary.
Then there's "re-enter your account's and Credit Card's details". What's
with the apostrophes there? Bad, bad English.

Pretty lame. Nice try mister teenage asian dude. No offense to the nice guys
out there :)

personal info
Importance: High

Sorry for the off topic post but there has just begun a spoof email
that has claimed and looks to be from ebay.

It request bank, credit card, social security, paypal login and more.

Please do not submit this information. We have confirmed with ebay it
is NOT FROM EBAY.
