Hi all !
I have that great sounding analog Kawai SX-210 which is 20 years old.
Lately it started ot behave strangely, plays sounds and doule notes automatically and randomly.
A few months ago I opened it up and saw black color type of dirt near the Nicad battery.
Cleaned it with contact spray and the problem was temporarily solved.
But a week ago it went back.
I opened it up again and it seems that the "dirt" (or acid ????)
"ate" the PCB near were it is !
I assume this is going out of the battery.
The first thing I'm gonna do is desolder the battery out and than recover the
"eaten" area on the PCB.
Hope nothing happend to the ICs placed in this area.
I recall a discussion we had here about modding the circuit so I can use
a lithium battery instead.
What does it involve ? can you give me any directions ?
Thanks !!
