[sdiy] simple knob question...

Any tips for drilling Roman? I have a bunch of knobs
with a tiny (possibly 2-3mm) "half-circle" shaped hole
that i want to use with 4 or 6mm pots. I've tried
drilling them but they always get somewhat
"twisted"...
