When all are talking about atmels and pics... I must say... if you go for 
the avr. you have a lot in return for buying the stk 500.. you can upgrade 
it with stk 501 and 502 for bigger microcontrollers, and it can be used as 
a isp as well.. And all pins are easily accessible on the board, which 
helps  a lot when debugging, and if there is a need for using a in circuit 
emulator, there is connections for a jtag on the 501 and 502... the stk 500 
can also be used as an isp. which is great when you do your own boards... 
as long as you don't need the spi interface at the same time that is....

Anyone know where to get the best prices for an atmel atmega128  (or the 
new name : avrmega128) ? I only found it at $25, which is really a lot. 
still got three spare, but with some projects planned, that is not much at 
all...
