I.e. VERY bad transmission lines!

Transmission line is the intermediary step into accepting a full 3D wave/
impulse model which prove both necessary and in many cases acceptable in
prediction and analysis. An intermediary step up from transmission line models
to the 3D style is to model segments of transmission lines and additional
parasitic components.

In real life there is no such thing as a perfect transmission line, the
question is just how "off" it is.
