[sdiy] a cable with 50+ pin connectors ?

I have used panel mounted IDC header quite a bit in the past and have a 50
pin connector on my desk right now (dug out of memory lane). If you check
the ref's below you can see that you can order the IDC with "ears" this is
what i am referring to.

That's interesting. I think I have seen something like that in a catalogue
(tiny
picture, so I wasn't sure.)
And a stock 50-pin centronics cable has all 50 pins individually connected?
(I have 49 voices - one more than the original 3200 - so I really need
49 + 1 (GND) connectors.)
