    Yes, the CA3280 is "conditionally" worth it.  It has many
characteristics that make it a better choice for many applications,
however, not all.  I also like the LM13700 for some things, because you
just don't need something as good as the CA3200, and like you pointed
out, it is rather expensive.  Last time I purchased a lot (250 pieces), I
think I paid something like $2.80 each...I was selling them for this
price to list members, although, my inventory is getting low...

    The SSM2164 is good for VCA's, although, it lacks some of the
flexability of the LM13700 and CA3280.
