So, been following the recent FM thread on AH and its got me thinking about
something.

Do the FM chips used on the old Adlib PC Sound Cards ( pre-Soundblaster
in fact Pre-Gameblaster if anyone else remembers those ) have any relation
to the guts of a DX7 or kindred?

I know where a bunch of those chips are sitting, wondering if they are at
all worth playing with. As I remember, most PC games with Adlib cards had
some pretty hokey sounds, but I could easily be convinced that that was
from programming laziness vs poor quality availability.
