The other day, I found a toy synth. sitting in a thrift shop; 'twas a
Yamaha PSS-270. A rather strange little synth, which, while it has
some very annoying sounds and features akin to those organs sold in
shopping mall music stores, with all sorts of automated irritating
sounds, also makes some rather nice, interesting and useful, sounds.
Aside from the tiny keys (a couple of which need switch repairs), the
range of pitch is very limited, and I didn't notice any obvious way to
shift it a couple of octaves lower. Before I open this thing up and
begin poking around its insides, trying to figure out what does what:
Has anyone on this list performed any modifications on one of these
critters?
