[sdiy] A bit confused about a paia midi->cv

One of the "features" of this unit, as it would seem, is that it has "Open
collector transistors on each output" which "provide for "S" and Wired-or
Triggers".  Is there any way to translate that into beginnerspeak?  I have
one of these, and it works fine with my 9700, but I was thinking about maybe
getting a second one for use with an ASM-1 in the future...but I'd like to
use banana connectors, any thoughts?
