I feel like this a lot.

The problem with the Serge/Buchla stuff is that a lot of it *is* the same 
old VCO/VCF/VCA chain (plus accessories), only with fancy names.

Creating some completely new module types (fancy names optional) would be fun.

Thought experiment:
If you were prepared to pay up to $500 (parts cost) for a cool new module, 
what would you make it do?

Digital signal processing is allowed, as long as there are still voltage 
controlled elements somewhere in the design.
