[sdiy] What the heck is this?

I had a silly thought that thumbwheel-switch attenuators might be fun, and I
liked the Vibrator in the output section :) More facetious than anything,
really.
Sometimes I feel like designing and building something that is *not* the
same old VCO-VCF-VCA chain. Kinda like Serge or Buchla modular in style,
with funny-named modules, where I would be back to the "I wonder what this
thing does?" stage in my synth career. Back before I had this stuff
memorized, I could sit for hours listening to pulse width modulation.
If I were confronted with a machine that was totally strange, maybe I could
re-live those old days! Maybe some kind of "anti-synthesizer"?
I do get a kick out of the Hellfire modulator, it's like that.

It has been on ebay a couple of times.
It is designed for hearing research. No control voltage.
Of limited musical use in my opinion
I resent the implied musical/sound application by including a Buchla 100 and
a Capabara 320 in the same photo.
Take care,
John
