I'll answer even though I'm not sure if it is of much value - I'll give
you all I remember. (;->)
I have added an aftertouch function to an Ensoniq ESQ-1. This was
many years ago, but certainly long after 1985. The German distributor
for Ensoniq back then was also the distributor for Oberheim -
this *might* have been Waldorf (TSI ?), and they offered me
a Matrix-12 aftertouch sensor for free. Apparently they had a lot of
these left. In the end I used a Kawai sensor, and I'm sure I don't
have the Oberheim sensor anymore (not after moving houses).
But maybe the clue to Waldorf may help.

This hum is outright terrible. The main reason for me not to buy an
Xpander. May be ok at a 60Hz mains, but at 50Hz and increased
voltage (200V -> 230V --- soon 240V ?) these transformers are
way under sized. Good luck finding one that fits - I guess the nice
display needs some extra windings with higher voltage than usual.
(Just a guess.)
You might try a step down transformer (like 230V -> 220V or
even lower), but then of course you're loosing "headroom"
for mains under voltage. (Or would that be "foot room"?)
JH.
