[sdiy] connection wire

One thing to consider before using teflon wire is that it is difficult
to strip. The best way to strip teflon wire is with thermal strippers,
however, I advise against this as you get fumes from the teflon that I
cannot imagine are good for you (I can't stand the smell). The next
option is to get the "IDEAL" Custion Stripmaster with Type E blades
(generally, teflon wire is classified as Type E, although, there are
other clasifications of teflon insulation). When I purchased mine, they
cost $150...which is pretty funny, because the same stripper without the
type E blades is only about $30 (and the replacement blades were
something like $80....which has the potential for getting the stripper
cheaper :-)

You can use the cheaper stripper on teflon wire, but, you will find
they will nick the wire.

Personally, I prefer for the most part good old fashioned PVC type
insulation. It is less expensive, and it does the job.
