I don't think it needs to be teflon in particular, but that is certainly a
consideration.

On another issue altogether, I personally suggest that you get stranded
wire that is tinned. It is much easier to solder than un-tinned copper.
Being quicker to accept solder, it will also cut down on potential
over-heating problems, such as the shrinking insulation issue mentioned above.

You might also want some shielded cable for some of your internal wiring.

Sorry, but I don't have any Farnell numbers for you. We don't get Farnell
catalogs here in West Virginia.   ;)
