[sdiy] Tube ring mod

I'm familar with the 4CX15000A. I believe that it was used in the once
popular RCA 20 kW FM broadcast transmitter. The little brother 4CX5000A was
used in a Fritz Bauer AM broadcast transmitter. Modulators were a pair of
4-1000As. With the usual audio processing, CBS compressor, limiter and
dynamic pressence equalizer the 4-1000As plates developed a bright orange
glow. I used the baby brother, a 4CX250R, in a DIY 6 meter transmitter.

For a truely "warm tube sound" by all means use the 4CX15000A.

Take care,
John
