[sdiy] build a formant vocoder?

just curious if anyone has had the chance to build the
formant vocoder.  ill be etching my own boards, and it
seems to be a clever design.  i saw a website of a
german builder who made a clone recently.  anyone have
experience with this project?  thanks all!
