The new Alesis Ion does the variable symmetry trick very well. You can
control the width with pretty much anything, wheels, LFOs etc. Even has
the LCD display showing the slew of the waveform. Very nice. What's more
it really can go right up to 0% rise/fall time, excepting slew rates of
the output stages, DACs etc.
But then the whole thing is DSP.
To my ears the Ion is the best VA I have ever heard. Shame they
didn't put aftertouch on the damn thing, otherwise I might have had to
buy one ;-)
