[sdiy] bootable linux cd

Here's an idea: why not try putting together a linux machine (and
perhaps win xp if that works...) that has 2 compactflash slots. No
harddisk, cdrom, cdwriter, diskdrive. One slot for the OS, one slot for
data. It should be possible to make an ultra compact PC that way ... 1GB
compactflash is getting pretty cheap (around 200 USD).

That's nice, but where's the $99 PC you can buy at any corner
grocery store, with no disk drives or moving parts at all?
Just a row of USB ports or somesuch.

Operating system on one memory dongle, your work files on
another, etc.....boots up in a few seconds.

Why can't I buy one??? It's not fair!! I HATE subsidizing
hard-drive manufacturers! Their products self-destruct....
