[sdiy] russian synths

hello everyone.
i've got a couple of synths from russia: polivoks and ritm-2.
they call for 50 hertz.
i can get step up transformers to deal with the voltage but not frequency.
will i have problems with the wrong frequency?
any thoughts on what to do?
