[sdiy] Forbidden Planet playing in Palo Alto

Just a note to SF Bay Area / San Jose DIYers: "Forbidden Planet" will be
playing July 10th and 11th at the Stanford Theatre in Palo Alto. Come listen
to the great electronic soundtrack, and have a nice evening at the movies
while you're at it. If you've never seen a movie at the Stanford, it's
definitely a treat. Show up for the 5:35 showing of "The Time Machine"
(always double features at the Stanford) to get the best seats / tickets.
ALSO, the "Mighty Wurlitzer Organ" rises up out of the orchestra pit and is
played every evening before the 7:30 show. VERY cool sounds from that beast!

I know many of you may own FP on video or DVD, but there is just something
very special about seeing a movie with an audience. It transforms it into a
completely different experience, especially when you hear other people
laugh, clap, gasp, etc at the same stuff you do. Just as an additional
sci-fi note, "Day the Earth Stood Still" and "Invasion of the Body
Snatchers" are playing on August 7th and 8th. I love living here!
