Why would you paint slides when you could copy roll-to-roll in any 
self-respecting photo-lab? In fact, if you don't cut it to slides you 
could scan the complete roll, maybe even make it endless with the right 
kind of transport. You can "flange" it, too (in the original sense of 
that word). Sounds like a fun module... :-)
