you guys hit the nail on the head, both with software and a 'hardware' synth
like the v-synth: the sound. what i loved about the last one was its
interface, and the hands-on way the variOS trickery can be used, like
spinning a disc or using the d-beam to edit an audioloop tempo in realtime.
combine it with that fabulous touchscreen (when are you guys going to
implement that? ;-) and you have something that is actually FUN to edit and
actually encourages the layer to experiment. the fun factor is that of a
modular synth, the sound that of.. well..hmpf.. ehm..sonething not quite
good. it has a very limited timbre, especially opposed to an analogue synth.
get that thing to sound right and you have the future of synthesis in your
hands.
same for those creamware-emulations: very nice, but ehmm... no. and from the
noah i'd at least expected a whole lot more knobs than those on there now..
