It was the only system built using photo-resistive opto-isolators as the
only transconductor. It has an 8 way power system (like satelittes) and the
control circuits and audio path are optically isolated. It's also the only
system built from the ground up for moving sound sources in a quadaphonic
environment.

The sequencers are large, multi-rank and have unique features, like voltage
controlled stage select.

It's just as amazing for what it doesn't do, as what it does. No pulse width
modulation for instance, control signals not exchangeable with audio
signals, needs two type of patch cables, control signals are 0 to 15 volts,
requiring 24 volt supplies, the list goes on and on, with good and bad
points galore.

One big problem is that the schematics don't match what's actually inside
the boxes and nearly every module has 10 or so added components that aren't
on the schematics.

A beautiful and intoxicating instrument that is also insanely frustrating
and requires constant maintenance.
