[sdiy] Clone whole Buchla system?

Just wondering...

Seeing as Buchla is considered the holy grail of synth land (along 
with Moog modular I guess), and if I ever found one for sale I 
couldn't afford it anyway.

What would it take to clone a whole Buchla system?

How many modules are there in different Buchla systems, what were the 
different systems/configurations, what are the different modules, 
etc.? Is this info on the web somewhere?

Would cloning a Buchla system infringe on copyrights/patents, seeing 
as it was produced a long time ago, and there seems to be no interest 
in officially produced 'old' module systems.

What makes the Buchla so desirable anyway, rarity/sound/functions/hype/etc.?
