This may be of very little use, but, I had a CS-50 about 20 years ago that
may have had the exact same issue. You could barely hear the filters
sweep if you really cranked it up, but otherwise, no audio output at all
for any voice.
I recall the tech who fixed it replaced a single chip (not each VCA or
whatever) and I also think it was some sort of proprietary Yamaha chip as
opposed to something like a single 4016.
I don't remember which chip it was, though.
