When you build one ASM-1 it is usually counted in as a single voice, having
2 VCOs, 1 VCF, etc. in that voice. Some of us build several ASM-1s to have more
voices.
> do i have to build a circuit for each octave or note or something??
The VCO spanns all octaves (I had mine spanning no less than 21 octaves, so I
think it is safe to say it is enought). You control which octave and tone
through the CV input.
> what does it have for input??¿midi?
Analog classic: 1 V/Oct CV and Gate. For MIDI you need a MIDI2CV-converter.
For MIDI2CV-converters ask someone else than me. I have a Paia put considerably
better ones exists.
> is it necessary to feed it with 15v ac or dc?
It needs +15V and -15V of DC power. It consumes about 100 mA on each, so you
want some margin on that.
> can you give me a hand in building a controller for the asm-1??? where can i find info on that??
There's several things you can do. MIDI2CV converters I've already mentioned.
Sequencers, keyboards and joysticks exists. Check out Anders Sponton's site
among others. Essentially, anything able to give a voltage in the range
-10V to +10V is useable.
> how long is it going to take to have it finished (approx)??
I built the ASM-1 PCB in about 8 hours. If you are not customary to electronic
stuff you should assume a multiple of that for the PCB, then you want to wire
it up, test it, build it into a box and what the time it takes to do all that
and not get distracted and starting to play with it.
Your milage may vary.
