The service manual recommends using the oscilloscope in X-Y mode and to 
judge the tuning from the Lissajous picture.
IMHO it's better to tune by ear and may get support from the scope 
(count the beating, whatever).
In any case you need a stable A-442 reference. I did this by generating 
a tuned sample on my PC - works pretty well.
