Hey Bert,

By all means, continue your PhD. Chicks DIG guys with PhDs!!!

But seriously, I know people with lots of practical experience with
electronics but little "formal" education, and I know people with wads of
education but little practical experience. IF you can combine BOTH, you will
be a mean, lean, extremely employable machine!!

If I had to choose only one path or the other, I'd rather have practical
experience than education. BUT employers REALLLLLLY like to see those
credentials. Very few employers will be impressed by the fact that you have
built your own temperature compensated VCO with a 10-octave range, but show
them a PhD and their eyes will light up. So basically: if you want a job,
get a PhD; if you want to actually BUILD something, get practical
experience.
