This happens.  As I've mentioned before, some doe-doe- did this to me, after
totally disappearing after I won the auction. Ebay cancelled the transaction
because of this, and then weeks later he fires off this negative on me.

I've also heard stories of ebay competitors buying stuff from auctioneers
that sell the same goods they do, only to write some bogus remark about them
even if the transaction went down to the letter, just to give them a bad rap
in hopes of swaying part of their business away.
