Well, I once bid on a Yamaha TG77 being sold by a fellow with horrible
feedback. He said that some lowlife of a person had trashed his eBay
rating, just for spite. I had no way to know if he was telling the truth,
but I took a chance on him. I ended up getting a TG77 for a lot less than
the going eBay rate at that time. It seems that everyone else was too
scared of his negative feedback to deal with him.

I knew I was taking a very serious gamble that time, and thankfully it paid
off. I would never have done it if the deal wasn't so good. It also
wouldn't have stung quite so much, if that deal had gone bad--at least I
was fully prepared for the possibility.

Revised moral of the story: Neither positive nor negative eBay feedback is
a foolproof indication of anything regarding seller trustworthiness.

(This is my last off-topic post to this thread. Sorry if anyone is annoyed
at the bandwidth I used on this.)

take care, and thanks for the support,
